Description
Seeds and half I-beam arils of Eschweilera jacquelyniae based on Batista & Quintana 1149 from Darién Province, Panama. The aril curves around each end of the seeds and tissue grows from the I-beam aril that eventually surrounds the entire seed. The seed on the left side only shows the I-beam aril because the spreading aril was removed when the fruit was cut. In contrast, the seed on the right side of the fruit has white tissue surrounding the seed because it was not damaged when the fruit was sectioned.
