  Glabrous stem and buds of Quercus rubra based on Mori et al. 27800 from the Westchester Wilderness Walk of the Westchester Land Trust, Westchester Co., New York. The stems are glabrous, i.e. trichomes are absent on the stem and lower parts of the petioles..
