  Abaxial view of the leaf blade bases of Betula allenganiensis based on Mori et al. 27798 from the Westchester Wilderness Walk of the Westchester Land Trust, Westchester Co., New York. Note that the leaf bases of this species are less cordate than are those of Betula lenta.
