    Species Description - Erect, 4–10 dm, the upper internodes elongate; lvs as in no. 2 [Polemonium reptans L.], the lfls sharply acute; infl compact, few-fld; cal at anthesis 8–10 mm, usually longer than the pedicel, the lobes conspicuously longer than wide; cor 14–20 mm, lobed to about the middle, the lobes ± erose; stamens surpassing the cor by 5–7 mm; 2n=18. Swamps and stream-banks; Me., Vt. and n. N.Y. to W.Va.; local. June, July.
