Description - A tufted tawny perennial, with robust, ascending, often zigzag culms as much as 1 meter tall, hirsute sheaths, linear blades, terminal and axillary, open, divaricately spreading panicles, and turgid, abruptly pointed, glabrous or sparsely hispid spikelets 3.5 mm. long.
