Description - A tall perennial, with long branching decumbent bases and long stolons, pubescent nodes, glabrous blades, and several racemes on an axis 15 to 20 cm. long, the lower as much as 5 to 10 cm. long and more or less branching, the glabrous spikelets 3 mm. long.
