Species Description - A branching shrub, 2 m. high or less, the leaves and branches tomentulose. Leaves opposite, petioled, ovate, 1.5-7 cm. long, obtuse, repand-dentate or entire; heads small, usually numerous; involucre about 3 mm. high, 8-15-flowered, its bracts oblong or linear-oblong, obtuse; flowers white or purplish; achenes 1.5-2 mm. long.

Scrub-lands, coppices and pine-lands, Abaco, Great Bahama and Andros to Crooked Island and Atwood Cay : Florida ; Cuba ; Jamaica and the Cayman Islands. Velvety Thoroough wort. Jackmada.
