Description - Plants 1 mm wide, green to pale brown, creeping. Leaf lobes obliquely spreading (45-70°), subimbricate, ovate, ca. 0.7 mm long, 1.3 times longer than wide, plane, tapering to an acute to apiculate apex ending in 1 cell or a row of 3 cells, apiculus usually deflexed, margins crenulate due to rounded, bulging cells, without teeth or dorsal margin with a rudimentary tooth near apex; dorsal base not auriculate. Cells in midlobe subisodiametrical to elongate, 30-40 x 25 µm, thin-walled, trigones conspicuous, intermediate thickenings frequently present, 1-2 per wall, cuticle finely papillose. Lobules 1/6—1/5 of leaf length, inflated, short bottle-shaped, not reduced, keel curved, at an oblique angle with axis, apex with a short, blunt tooth. Underleaves contiguous, large, 6 times stem width, wider than long, transversally ovate, bifid to 1/5 of length, with a narrow, sharp incision, tips 1-2 cells long, connivent; underleaf margins crenulate, bases rounded, not auriculate, insertion line deeply arched, ca. 0.2 mm deep, laterally not attached to stem by very large cells. Dioicous? Androecia not seen. Perianths in rows of 2-3 on branches and main stems, ca. 0.8 mm long, slightly longer than leaves, cylindrical, 5-keeled over most of their length, the keels irregularly crenulate and with a rudimentary, double wing above. In submontane forest (Mt. Galbao), rare, 500-700 m, on bark.
