Species Description - Plants 0.5-1.2 mm wide, brownish green, rather densely branched, creeping. Flagelliform, denuded branches with caducous leaves frequently present. Leaf lobes very asymmetrical-ovate, dorsal margin widely arched and toothed, ventral margin much shorter, straight, entire, apex broadly rounded to acute, toothed, plane, displaced towards ventral margin. Cells in midlobe rather small, 15-20 pm; oil bodies homogeneous (Dauphin 2003); ocelli 1-4 at leaf bases, not forming a row. Lobules 0.2-0.5 of leaf length, rarely reduced, ovoid; utricles scarce. Underleaves bifid to 1/2 of length, distant, ovate, 2-3 times stem width, margins entire to crenulate, bases without auricles. Au- toicous. Perianths with 4 erect, flattened horns, to 0.5 mm long.
