    Species Description - Plants relatively robust, yellowish to olive green; stems to ca. 15 cm long, branches 1-3 cm tall. Leaves contorted and ± spirally twisted when dry, obviously 5-ranked when moist, lanceolate, acute to short-acuminate, 1.5-3.5 x 0.5-0.7 mm; margins serrulate to irregularly serrate above, plane above, recurved below; costa sub-percurrent to short-excurrent; cells rounded-hexagonal, 10-14 pm in diameter, bulging to unipapillose, thick-walled; basal cells long-rectangular, 35-50 x 5-6 µm, thick-walled, ± porose, smooth. Setae 0.3-0.8 cm long, smooth; capsules 1.5-2 mm long, cupulate to short-cylindric, smooth to furrowed, anisosporous; peristome double, exostome teeth fused into a membrane, papillose; endostome of basal membrane only. Calyptrae mitrate, long-hairy.

    In non-flooded moist forests, very common, 200-500 m, on tree trunks and branches, usually in the canopy.
