Species Description - Plants medium-sized to relatively robust, 0.5-2 cm tall, reddish green, in dense turfs. Leaves flexuose when dry, linear-lanceolate from a slightly enlarged base, 7-11 x 0.5-0.7 mm; margins thickened, coarsely toothed with 1-2 rows of teeth above, serrate below with at least some of the teeth recurved, elimbate; costa sub-percurrent to short-excurrent; cells round to rectangular, variable in size even within a single leaf, mostly smooth abaxially, bulging adaxially; cancellinae golden, well developed, rounded above, the cells usually persistent. Asexual reproduction by gemmae; gemmiferous leaves strongly differentiated, with greatly reduced lamina and long-excurrent, roughened costa; gemmae on costal apices. Setae 15-20 mm long; capsules 1.5-2 mm long.

Distribution
In non- flooded moist forests, somewhat common, 300-400 m, on tree trunks and less often rocks.
