Species Description - Plants medium-sized, 0.3-2 cm tall, yellowish green, in thin turfs. Leaves contorted and involute when dry, long-lanceolate from a scarcely enlarged base, 4-6 x 0.6-0.8 mm; margins thickened, irregularly winged and coarsely toothed above, irregularly toothed with spreading-recurved teeth below, elimbate; costa subpercurrent; cells rounded short-rectangular, 9.5-12 x 7-8.5 µm, smooth or low- unipapillose abaxially, bulging adaxially; cancellinae golden, small and restricted to small areas near insertion, fragile. Asexual repro¬duction by gemmae; gemmiferous leaves strongly differentiated, stiffly erect, with greatly reduced lamina and long-excurrent costa; gemmae on adaxial surface of costa apices. Setae 6-11 mm long; capsules 1.5-2 mm long.

In non-flooded moist forests, uncommon, ca. 200 m, on tree trunks.
