    Genus Description - Rhizomes long-creeping or multicipital, hairy, the hairs concolorous, brown to blackish, stiff; stipes and rhachises grooved, dorsiventrally flattened, or merely terete, the latter sometimes green-winged, atropurpureous, usually hairy, the hairs rather dense, short, and fairly stiff, or few, long, and lax; laminae bipinnate to quadripinnate-pinnatifid, lanceate or lanceolate to nearly linear; pinnae ovate or lanceate, short-stalked; ultimate segments adnate lobes served by 1 or 2 veins, papyraceous to chartaceous with lax, whitish hairs on the veins and margins, mostly beneath; veins free; sori dorsal, linear, exindusiate.

Kuhn9 [= Gymnogramma elongata Hook. & Grev.J, chosen by Maxon (Sci. Surv. Porto Rico & Virg. Isis. 6: 439. 1926). Kuhn included the type of Eriosorus in Psilogramme.
