Bolivar: Roraima region, Kwaimatta Savanna, McConnell ir Quelch 279; Ireng River, Im Thurn 13 (as E. graniticum); Carrao-tepui, on lower southeastern slopes, 1675-1980 m alt., epiphyte in woods on lower branches of shrubs, leaves erect, coriaceous, deep green on both sides, sepals and petals within deep brown-bronze with yellowgreen margins and base, lip pale yellow with lateral lobes pale yellow-green, purple-dotted within, column pale green with tiny purple dots, December 5-6, 1944, J. A. Steyermark 60870; K m 112 south of El Dorado, on the upper part of rather large fallen tree, G. C. K. Dunsterville 852. Middle America, TRINIDAD and northern South America to BRAZIL. The type was of uncertain origin in South America.
