Smith 2543; western extremity of Kanuku Mountains, in drainage of Takutu River, on rocks in dense forest, 600 m alt., flowers brown with purplish lip, March 4-22, 1938, A. C. Smith 3291; Kanuku Mountains, Tutawau Head, Henderson's 3rd Camp, epiphytic on Swartzia, plant with numerous aerial roots (some with apical swellings), leaves purplish green, valved fruit present, January 1, 1952, Forestry Department Field No. 6807, Record No. G-177 (no flowers). VENEZUELA. Bolivar: Medio Caura, Salto de Pard, 200 m alt., on tree trunks, July 3, 1939, L. Williams 11430. Florida (U.S.A.), the West Indies (Martinique, type), Middle America and South America to PERU and BRAZIL.
