Discussion
Like S. laurifolia, its nearest ally, S. corrugata has relatively large stipules and this characteristic separates them from their relative, S. leptopetala. The rugose or rugulose leaflets of S. corrugata distinguish it from the other two species at a glance.

Distribution
(Fig. 8). Lowland riverine forest in the lower half of the Amazon Basin, from Manáos to the vicinity of Obidos on the Amazon River, north on the Rio Cumina and south as far as the upper drainage of the Rio Trombetas. It occurs on high, non-inundated lands along the rivers or rarely in savannas.
