Discussion
Type. Ad flumen Jurua Miry, Estado Amazonas, Brazil, E. Ule 5671.
This species has been confused with Coussarea longiflora Mull.-Arg., from which it differs in the shorter calyx and hypanthium, with shorter denticulations of the calyx-border, the shorter pedicels, the scarcely developed pedicle 2-6 mm long, the more numerous flowers (5-10) in a cluster, the somewhat more exserted anthers, the somewhat larger corolla, and the somewhat longer fruit.
