Discussion
Discophora guianensis Miers, Ann. Mag. Nat. Hist. II. 9: 223. 1852, II, 10: 118. 1852. The Tilletts' specimen shows an anomalous development of the fruit, possibly a disease condition where the elongated sterile fruits are covered with a tan corky surface. This has been seen in other specimens from Brazil.
