Genus Description - Lianas with glabrous or pubescent stems. Leaves ovate to elliptic, pubescent to glabrous. Flowers in axillary or terminal cymes or inflorescences thyrsiform. Sepals unequal, the outer 2 larger, mostly cordate to broad-cordate, the inner smaller. Corollas funnelform, the limb undulate or shallowly lobed. Stamens included. Ovary 2-locular, 4-ovulate; styles 2, either free or partly fused; stigmas globose. Capsules indehiscent, ovoid to ellipsoid, mostly glabrous. Seeds usually 1 per fruit, glabrous.
