Species Description - Plants medium-sized, yellow-green to yellow-brown. Stems prostrate or rarely suberect, up to 5 cm long, regularly pinnate-branched; branches patent, 3-7 mm long, rarely gelliform at the tips. Stem leaves 1.1-1.8 x 0.4-0.6 mm, falcate-secund, ovate- or oblong-lanceolate, gradually narrowed to a rather short or long acumen, slightly plicate; margins subentire to sermlate above, strongly recurved from the base to near the apex; costae usually distinct; upper median cells 30-50(-60) x 4-5 µm; basal cells sometimes yellowish; alar cells subquadrate, 8-15 along the margins, usually with a few larger, rectangular, hyaline cells at extreme angles. Branch leaves a little smaller (1-1.5 x 0.3-0.5 mm), otherwise similar to stem leaves. Perichaetial leaves oblong-lanceolate, with a rather short, subentire acumen, plicate. Setae 10-20 mm long; capsules inclined to horizontal, whitish-to yellowish-brown, 2-3 mm long, 0.6-0.75 mm broad, oblong-cylindric, curved; operculum conic-apiculate; cilia of endostome 2-3. Spores 12-15 µm, almost smooth. (Sporophytes unknown in Mexico.)
