Species Description - Plants rather large, green. Stems up to 4.5 cm long, (with leaves) up to 6 mm wide. Leaves slightly contorted when dry, 2.5-3.5 mm long, oblong to ovate-lanceolate, usually abruptly acuminate; margins serrate above; costae ending at or below the leaf middle; upper median cells linear to linearrhomboidal, 6-12:1 (shorter at the apex), not differentiated at the margins. Autoicous. Setae up to 8 mm long, red-brown, hispid. Calyptrae smooth.
