    Species Description - Secondary stems 5-20 cm high, loosely subpinnate; branches ± flattened. Leaves spreading to wide-spreading, usually somewhat wavy and loosely complanate, 2.5-4 mm long, oblong-ovate, entire. (Sporophytes not seen.)

    On the bark of trees and shrubs, occasionally on rock, in moist forests at 600-2300 m alt.; Chiapas, Hidalgo, Oaxaca, San Luis Potosi, Tamaulipas, Veracruz.—Mexico to northern South America; West Indies.
