    Species Description - Epiphytes with creeping rhizomes. Secondary stems to 6 cm long, basally terete, flattened towards apex, 3-10 cm long, with several nodes concealed by evanescent sheaths. Leaves lanceolate, acute, cuneate, coriaceous, 7.5-10 X 0.7-1.6 cm. Flowers translucent, yellow with maroon markings on lip; sepals ovate, acute, 6-7 X 3.5 mm; petals subsimilar, acuminate, shorter than sepals; lip 3-lobed, to 5 X 4 mm, the lateral lobes erect, small, falcate, obtuse, the midlobe oblong, truncate, emarginate, minutely erose-denticulate, with central paired keels; column slender, arcuate. Fl (May), fr (Jul). This species is frequently included in a broadly defined O. grandiflora Lindley but differs by details of the lip and overall smaller size.
