Genus Description - Epiphytes with ridged, ovoid pseudobulbs basally enveloped in 2 or 3 fibrous bracts. Leaves 2 or 3 per pseudobulb, elliptic-lanceolate, plicate, petiolate. Inflorescences elongate, pendent racemes from the base of pseudobulb. Flowers not resupinate, fragrant, on long pedicels; dorsal sepal erect, basally connate to column, the lateral sepals strongly reflexed; petals much smaller than sepals, basally connate to column; lip very fleshy, complexly divided into hypochile and epichile, the apical margin of the hypochile usually with 2 slender, erect antennae; column slender, arcuate, dilated above; pollinia 2, waxy.
