Genus Description - Semi-trailing or rosulate succulent terrestrials rooting at nodes. Leaves several to numerous, petiolate to subpetiolate, withering without abscission. Inflorescences terminal, usually pedunculate racemes. Flowers congested, inconspicuous; dorsal sepal and petals subsimilar, frequently connivent; lateral sepals larger than dorsal sepal, usually strongly carinate; lip 3-lobed, with prominent spur; column erect, with conspicuous, entire rostellum; pollinia 2, sectile. Aspidogyne was previously included in a broadly defined Erythrodes Blume.
