    Species Description - Rhizomes creeping, covered with brown, shiny, denticulate scales 3 mm long. Fronds alternate, erect, 25-70 cm long, pinnate; petiole black, shiny, angular, 12-40 cm long, covered with dark-brown, ± caducous pubescence; rachis like petiole in color and pubescence; blade oblong to lanceolate, 10-30 X 7-15 cm; pinnae 8-13 on each side of rachis, dark green, subhastate, shortly petiolulate, unequal, with obliquely flabellate veins, terminal pinna present. Sori numerous, straight or subarcuate.

    Distribution and Ecology - Rather common, on slopes in forest.
