    Species Description - Rhizomes short-creeping, covered with linear scales. Fronds alternate, erect or decumbent, pinnate; petiole shiny, black, glabrous, 15-30 cm long; blade oblong to ovate, 15- 30 X 10-20 cm; pinnae 3-8 on each side of rachis, glabrous, lightly subglaucous on abaxial surface, terminal pinna present; sterile pinnae with one margin irregularly incised or lobed. Sori continuous or nearly continuous.

    Distribution and Ecology - In French Guiana known only from Saul where it is extremely rare on clay banks or on fallen logs in well-shaded forests.
