Species Description - Rhizomes short-creeping, covered at apex with darkbrown, iridescent scales 1-1.5 mm long. Fronds oblong, numerous, erect, alternate, 30-60 cm long, generally pinnate, rarely bipinnate, with stellate scales on both surfaces; petiole violet-black, shiny, 15-25 cm long, with deciduous, brown, stellate scales; rachis and petiolules densely covered with scales; pinnae 8-11 on each side of rachis, alternate, deltoid, dull green, 5-8 X 1-1.5 cm, unequal, with furcate veins; petiolules 1-3 mm long; margins of sterile fronds dentate. Sori linear, continuous.
Distribution and Ecology - Very rare, in forests on slopes and ridges
