Species Description - Rhizomes long-creeping, covered with scales, the scales first brown then becoming black, 3 mm long. Fronds widely spaced, dimorphic. Sterile fronds with petiole 0-5 mm long, the margins ciliate; blade elliptic, rather variable, 2-3 X 1 cm, the margins ciliate, with round scales on adaxial surface. Fertile fronds with petiole 2-10 mm long, ciliate; blade linear, 3.5-4.5 x 0.1-0.3 cm, ciliate. Sori round, numerous, nearly covering abaxial surface.
Distribution and Ecology - Common, in lowland forests.
