Species Description - Plants terrestrial, epilithic, or most often climbing up tree trunks. Rhizomes long-creeping, to 15 m long, with triangular scales 9 X 1 mm. Juvenile fronds simple, gradually becoming imparipinnate. Sterile fronds pinnate; petiole 10-20 cm long, with same scales as rhizome; blade of variable size; pinnae in 3-10 pairs plus identical terminal pinna, elliptic, 10-20 X 3-4 cm, acuminate, the veins free, parallel, simple or 1-furcate. Fertile fronds nearly identical to or different from sterile fronds; pinnae elliptic-linear, 5-8 X 1 cm.
Distribution and Ecology - Very common in all types of forest.
