Species Description - Plants terrestrial. Rhizomes erect, thick, covered with brown scales. Fronds monomorphic, erect, pinnate, numerous, 2-3 m long; petiole 15-20 mm thick, straw-colored, with opposite pinnae and single terminal pinna; pinnae oblong, short acuminate, ± cordate at base, entire, shining green on adaxial surface, 10-50 X 5-7 cm; veinlets parallel, simple or 1-furcate at base, reticulate with areoles developing toward margins, the areoles without included veinlets. Sori linear, simple, located along veinlets; indusia lateral.
Distribution and Ecology - Rare, in understory of lowland forests.
