    Species Description - Rhizomes thick, decumbent or erect, covered with lanceolate scales, 6-15 mm long, the scales with marginal glands. Fronds 2 m long; petiole thick, 15 mm diam., dark brown, with scales at base; blade deltoid, 1 m long X 1 m wide at base; pinnae alternate, oblique, petiolulate, the largest deltoid, inequilateral, the secondary pinnae, pinnules, and segments inequilateral, the ultimate segments 1-2 cm long, sessile or adnate; midrib canaliculate; veins pinnate, branched in ultimate segments, prominent on both surfaces.
