Genus Description - Plants terrestrial. Rhizomes short-creeping or slightly ascending, with ovate to linear scales. Fronds nearly all inserted on one side of rhizome, alternate; blade entire or 1-3-pinnate, glabrous; petiole pale yellow to blackish, dark at base; petiole and rachis sometimes angular. Sori at ends of veins or joining two or even all veins of pinnule, facing margin of blade, covered by a linear, abaxial indusium, parallel and close to margin of blade.
