Species Description - Trunks to 60 cm tall. Fronds bipinnate; petiole 60 cm long with black spines, 5 mm long, covered by hairs and small scales; blade 120-160 X 60-70 cm, the rachis with hairs 2 mm long abaxially, 1.5 mm long adaxially; pinnae lanceolate hirsute, 37 x 5 cm, the rachis pubescent; pinnules sessile, 11 X 2.5 cm, lobed, the ultimate segments falcate, with dense pubescence, the margins entire; veins in 6-8 pairs per segment, branched, pubescent. Sori medial, inserted at bifurcation of veins; indusia present. Very common, in all kinds of forest.
