Species Description - Herbaceous twining or creeping vine to 10 m long, producing abundant milky sap; stems cylindrical, slender, pilose, sometimes reddish-tinged. Leaf blades 4.5-16(-24) x 2.7-6.5 cm, chartaceous, oblong to ovate, glabrous, venation usually reddish-tinged, the margins revolute, the apex obtuse, notched and mucronate, the base cordate or sagittate, the margins entire to sinuate; petioles slender, 10-20 cm long. Flowers in axillary, compound dichasia; peduncle thick, much shorter than the petioles; bracts ovate, 1.5-2 cm long. Calyx light green, 12-17 mm long, the sepals ovate, unequal, with 3 prominent parallel veins, the apex long-acuminate; corolla funnel-shaped, pinkish violet, the tube darker within, 4-7 cm long, the limb 4-5 cm diam., with 5 rounded lobes; stamens pinkish, included; stigmas pinkish, slightly exserted. Capsule thinwalled, ovoid, ca. 1 cm diam., covered by persistent sepals. Seeds light brown, tomentose.

Distribution
Uncommon in moist open areas. Center Line Road by km 1 (A3094). Also in tropical America and tropical Africa.
