    Species Description - Twining woody vine or climbing shrub to 10 m long; bark light brown, rough; stem densely covered with long stiff hairs. Leaf blades 10-22 X 2-11 cm, elliptic, ovate, or rarely obovate, chartaceous, hirsute, the apex acuminate or acute, the base obtuse, rounded or cuneate, often unequal, the margins entire; petioles 1- 1.5 cm long. Flowers sessile, in branched cymes. Sepals awlshaped, ca. 2-3 mm long, pubescent; corolla white, trumpetshaped, the tube 4-5 mm long, strigose, the lobes expanded or reflexed, 2 mm long, depressed along central vein; anthers sessile, inserted on middle of tube; ovary conical, the style short, the stigma conical. Fruit white, nearly globose, 5-6 mm diam., fleshy, with persistent stigma at apex.

    Distribution and Ecology - Common in open or disturbed areas. Coral Bay (A2458), Cruz Bay Quarter along Center Line Road (A2865). Also on St. Croix, St. Thomas, and Tortola; Greater and Lesser Antilles and Trinidad.
