Species Description - Stems suberect, rooting in lower ¼ of plant and in flagelliform portion, generally 10-20 cm long, ca. 1 mm diam., articulate, flagelliform at apex; anisophyllous above first stem branch; lateral leaves obliquely oblong, 3-4 mm long, tapering to acute apex, base truncate with central attachment, nearly right angles to stem, margin short-ciliate at base, denticulate; median leaves obliquely ovate-lanceolate, long-acuminate, base with single peltate auricle, margin ciliate; axillary leaves linear-oblong, auriculate with divergent auricles, ciliate in lower half, denticulate above; sporophylls monomorphic, green, ascending; megasporangia single at base of strobilus; megaspores gray, ca. 500 µm diam., reticulate with low muri; microspores cream-colored, spiny.

Terrestrial in lowland wet forests along rivers and grassy roadsides on Pacific side of state; Juchitán, Juquila, Pochutla; 15-300 m. Mexico (Nay, Jal, Col, Mich, Gro, Oax, Chis); Guat to Pan.
