    Species Description - Rhizome short, stout, compact; rhizome scales 3-4 mm long, 0.5-0.8 mm wide, light brown, concolorous, dull, linear-lanceolate to lanceolate, irregularly denticulate; fronds to 80 cm long, erect; stipe the frond length, nearly terete to plane on upper surface, stramineous, with narrow orange scales toward the base, otherwise glabrous or rarely sparsely puberulous, rachis straight; blade narrowly oblong to deflate, pinnate to bipinnate, light green, yellow-green to gray-green; pinnae widely spreading to slightly ascending, entire to pinnate, segments short-stalked, 20-28 mm long, 8-14 mm wide at base, lanceolate or sagittate, entire, cordate at base, apex acute, subcoriaceous, glabrous to sparsely pubescent at pinna base with scattered hairs and scales, terminal pinnule of pinnae with strongly inequilateral base (1-1.5 mm difference); veins evident, free; margin recurved with whitened cells on recurved portion, indusium well-differentiated, 0.3-0.5 mm wide, papillate; spores brown.
