Species Description - Rhizome short-creeping, 3-7 mm diam.; rhizome scales reddish-brown, dark towards margin, narrow-deltate, acuminate, margin toothed, papillose; fronds 8-60 cm long, clumped; stipe 1/8-1/3 the frond length, black, glabrous; rachis with scales ovate, gold to red-brown, apex short, acuminate, bullate or not, margin toothed, papillate or fimbriate; blade narrow to linear elliptic, 3-7.5 cm wide, reduced to lobes at base; pinnae linear-obtuse, 1.5-3 cm long, 1.5-3.5 mm wide, surcurrent and decurrent, entire; lower laminar surface with scattered trichomidia, costae decurrent on rachis, black, with rare acicular hairs (0.3-0.5 mm) and scattered bullate scales (0.5 mm), costal scales minute; upper laminar surface glabrous, costae with rare scattered hairs (0.1-0.3 mm), margin with rare hairs (0.3 mm); veins free, 1-2-forked; sori round, medial, with clavate paraphyses (0.5 mm); sporangia with setae 0.1 mm long.
