    Species Description - Rhizome creeping, 3-5 mm thick (excluding scales and stipe bases), clothed at apex with brown to dark brown, linear-attenuate or narrowly deltate-attenuate scales mostly 2.5-5 mm long, the apex hairlike and gland-tipped, the margins subentire with a few distant, irregular teeth, sometimes with a few gland-tipped cilia near base. Sterile fronds crowded, erect; unwinged part of stipes very short, 1.5-5 cm long, brownish, grooved adaxially, when young bearing many very minute, appressed, stellate scales and a few larger, spreading, lanceolate scales, all of these soon deciduous; phyllopodia brown, up to 1.5 cm long; blades narrowly oblanceolate, mostly 10-29 cm long (including winged part of stipe), 1.5-2.7 cm broad above the middle, acutish or obtuse at apex, long-attenuate and decurrent at base, beset with many extremely minute, appressed, stellate scales on both sides, these falling with age, leaving the blade essentially naked; veins simple or once-forked, parallel, ending at the cartilaginous margin; tissue stiflfly chartaceous, almost opaque. Fertile fronds smaller than, equalling, or exceeding the sterile ones; stipes 7.5-16 cm long; blades linear, mostly 10-18 cm long, 0.8-1.6 cm broad, acute at the apex, attenuate and deciurent at base.
