    Species Description - Rhizome creeping, 0.3-0.5 mm diam.; rhizome hairs centrally attached, sessile, reddish-brown, 0.8-1.0 (tip to tip); fronds 3-17 cm long, distant; stipe 1.5-8 cm long, ca. ¼-1/3 the frond length, 0.3 mm diam., non-alate; blade 2-3(-4)-pinnatifid, deltate-ovate, 2-6 cm wide; rachis narrowly alate; pinnae several to many, adnate to short-petiolate at base; segments 0.8-1.0 mm wide; margin entire, plane, glabrous; involucres immersed for basal 1/3, ovate, 1.0-1.5 mm long, 0.8-1.0 mm wide, entire.
