Discussion
Lomaria stolonifera Mettenius ex Fournier, Mexic. pl. 1: 113. 1872. Struthiopteris stolonifera (Mettenius ex Fournier) Broadhurst, Bull. Torrey Bot. Club 39: 277. 1912. Type. Mexico. Veracruz: Orizaba, Müller 61.1491 (NY!; isotype K!, frag. B!). Lomaria ghiesbreghtii Baker in Hooker & Baker, Syn. fil. ed. 2, 481. 1874. Blechnum ghiesbreghtii (Baker) Christensen, Index filic. 154. 1905. Type. Mexico. Chiapas, Ghiesbreght 207 (K; isotypes NY!, PH). The small size, higher elevation and stolonif-erous nature of Blechnum stoloniferum distinguish it from the other members of sect. Lomaria in Oaxaca (B. divergens, B. l’herminieri and B. wardiae). See B. wardiae for possible hybrid origin involving B. stoloniferum.
