Species Description - This variety tends to be smaller than var. arachnoideum, with usually greenish to strawcolored stipes, and is of more widespread occunence at mostly lower elevations, although the ranges of the two varieties overlap, and they sometimes grow in the same localities.

Distribution
Grande, San Juan, Utuado, and Vega Baja. To be expected in most municipios. Habitat. Pastures, old fields, open banks, and secondary thickets at low to middle elevations (sea-level-600 m), common, often a troublesome weed.
