Discussion
Type. PARAGUAY, “in campis pr. Caaguazú,” E. Hassler 9013, Feb. 1905 (holotype, G; phototypes, MO!, US!; isotypes, BM!, F!, G!, GH!, K!, NY!, P!, S!,UC!). Rhynchosia caaguazuensis is represented by only a few collections from eastern Paraguay, almost entirely from the department of Caaguazú. The erect habit and narrowly oblong to widely-linear leaflets are reminiscent of R. cytisoides and R. lineata, but the species is distinct in many other ways. It would appear to have no close relatives within section Arcyphyllum.
