    Species Description - Herb or subshrub from woody elongate rootstock, to 80 cm, the stems slender and prostrate or thicker and ascending to erect, one to several, single to few-branched, terete to subterete, villosulose or puberulous or both kinds of hairs intermixed, the hairs silvery. Stipules ovate to lanceolate, acute to acuminate, villosulose, persistent, 2-9 mm long, 0.5-2 mm wide. Petioles subobsolete to 30 mm, villosulose. Leaflets 3, coriaceous, ovate, ovate-lanceolate to rhombic or suborbicular, acute, obtuse or rounded, apiculate, base rotund to subcordate or truncate, margins slightly revolute or not, 0.8-6 cm long, 445 mm wide, puberulous, strigulose or villosulose above, puberulous to villosulose or glabrate beneath, gland-dotted on both surfaces, terminal petiolule 3-18 mm, the laterals subobsolete, stipels setiform, 0.5-1.5 mm. Inflorescences fasciculate (1-7 flowers), not exceeding the leaves, 1-3 cm, nonbranching, peduncle subobsolete to 5 mm, pedicels 3-14 mm. Bracts narrowly lanceolate, acuminate, caducous, 1.5-3 mm long, 0.5 mm wide. Calyx not exceeding the corolla, villosulose, 5-9 mm, tube 2-3 mm, lobes lanceolate, acuminate, 2.5-6 mm, vexillar sinus 1.5-3 mm. Corolla yellow, streaked purple, 7-9.5 mm. Standard widely ovate, emarginate, gland-dotted and villosulose, 7-9 mm long, 5-6.5 mm wide, auricles 0.5 mm, claw 1.5-2 mm. Wings narrowly oblong or ovate, minutely puberulent or villosulose at apex, 6.5-8.5 mm long, 1.5-2 mm wide, claw 2-3 mm. Keel blades falcate, glabrous, 7-9 mm long, 2.5-3 mm wide, claw 2-3 mm. Stamens 7-9 mm. Fruits straight, erect on the pedicel, oblong to oblong-lanceolate, the base attenuate, compressed, gland-dotted and puberulous to villosulose, 15-20 mm long, 5-7 mm wide, beak 1-2 mm. Seeds suborbicular, brown, black or mottled, compressed, 3-4 mm long, 3-4 mm wide, hilum discoid, 0.5-1 mm, strophiole lobes cuneate.
