    Species Description - Usually armed shrub, 1-2 m, with feathery foliage. Leaves bipinnate; pinnae 1-2 pairs; leaflets ca 5 pairs, linear, 6-10 mm long, 1 mm wide, thickish, involute, mostly alternate and widely spaced on the puberulent rachis. Stipules shortly spinose. Flowers in pale yellow heads ca 8 mm diam, solitary or clustered from leafy spurs; peduncles slender, 2.5-3.5 cm, initially obscurely medially bracteate, often glandular-bumpy. Legume oblong, compressed but turgid, irregularly constricted, incurved 90°-360°, 3-5(-7) cm long, 5-6 mm wide; sutures strongly developed; valves brownish, somewhat shiny, glandular-spotted.

    Acaciopsis schottii (Torr.) Britt. & Rose I suppose A. schottii is a derivative of the A. constricta-neovernicosa group. I have not seen it in the field. Turner (1959) notes its local abundance.

    Texas, Brewster Co. Sandy washes along Rio Grande and lower slopes, Chisos mountains. Local. April-July. Adjacent Mexico.
