Variety Description - Characters as given in key to varieties; leaflets either puberulent on both faces, or setose-strigulose on both faces, or glabrous except for cilia; pods (6-)7-12 mm wide, the valves either glabrous or densely puberulent between setae.
Distribution and Ecology - On river banks, at edge of várzea forest, in seasonally wet savanna, and weedy in capoeira, mostly below 200 m, discontinuously scattered from the lower Magdalena valley in Colombia through the Orinoco and Amazon basins to French Guiana, in Brazil e. to Pará and s. to Rondônia, w. into Amazonian Peru; Guatemala.— Ringuiringui (Ven).
