NYBG's Rock Garden in the spring is full of treasures that have been documented since its inception. Check out these specimens, all collected in the Thompson Memorial Rock Garden in 1942, just a few years after it was created. Compare them to our current holdings on the Garden Navigator. They include Hellebores, Oconee Bells and Winter Aconite which pop up early in the season. There are alpine species from around the world that are miniatures of Columbine, Draba and Pinks. As well as other favorites like Tulips, Monkey Flower, Rock Cress and Beardtongue.
