This Federally Endangered Hibiscus relative with bright red flowers is endemic to the dry forests of Lana'i, East Maui, Hawai’i. Many endemic Hawai’ian plants face severe threats to their conservation, including extinction of pollinators, habitat loss, and invasive goats and pigs.
