Description
Tall solitary palm to 25m tall, dbh ca. 25cm, trunk priminently ringed above, scarcely below, diameter decreasing to 15cm near the crown; internodes ca. 15cm, pale brown. Leaves ca. 6 in the crown, 3-ranked; crownshaft green, swollen, ca. 1.5m long; reins conspicuous, pendulous; petiole absent or very short, rachis strongly arcuate, ca. 3.5m long; leaflets 102 on each side of the rachis, equidistant, ± in one plane, les conspicuously so near the tip, mid green. Inflorescence infrafoliar, branching to three orders; peduncle 25cm, strongly curved; prophyll 35cm, persistent; peduncular bract apparently longer, caucous; ca. 20 axes green; rachillae ca. 120, pendulous, ca. 40cm; young fruit green, rounded.
